With the opening of 28 new air routes during 2025 at the Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta airports, Jalisco solidified its position as one of the best-connected states in Mexico by the end of 2025.

The new routes include connections from key U.S. cities such as Oakland, Dallas/Fort Worth, Las Vegas, San Antonio, San Diego, St. Louis, Denver, Miami, Orlando, and Atlanta, as well as from Canada with flights from Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa, and Hamilton.

Domestic routes were also added from Mexicali, Ciudad Obregón, Puerto Escondido, Torreón, Durango, Zihuatanejo, Puebla, Villahermosa, and Morelia, along with the opening of an international flight from Bogotá and a connection to New York (Newark).

Among the airlines participating in this effort are Viva Aerobus, Volaris, Aeroméxico, Air Canada, Air Transat, WestJet, Porter Airlines, Southwest Airlines, and Frontier Airlines, all of which see Jalisco as a strategic destination for expanding their operational networks.

These new routes are the result of work carried out by the State Government through the Ministry of Tourism, headed by Michelle Fridman Hirsch, reflecting its commitment to boosting the state’s competitiveness, attracting more visitors, and facilitating travel for Jalisco residents to key destinations.

The opening of these routes strengthens tourism and generates investment and economic development opportunities, maintaining Jalisco’s position as a national and international leader in air connectivity.
