The only sabotage is making projects as shoddy as the people who defend them. López Obrador’s sons only thought about how to make more money and expand the business; obviously, they didn’t have the experience to manage something of that magnitude.
In fact, they had no experience in anything: in their own words, they didn’t even know what they were going to do when their father became President.
For me, they are a secondary part of the problem. The political class only goes as far as the citizenry allows. When Peña Nieto governed, the social pressure was such that they had to imprison eight governors from his own party. The issue here is that the “chairiza” (a derogatory term for supporters of López Obrador), instead of demanding different behavior from the PRIAN (a derogatory term for the PRI and PAN parties), defends them to the death; that, in essence, gives them carte blanche to be even worse.
So, yes: the problem also lies with the “croquetas” (a derogatory term for the people) who make up 60% of the population, the “good and wise people.”
The government is going to give the families of those affected a measly 30,000 pesos; But if they’re rejected, they could sue for millions through the state’s liability claims, via administrative channels. The problem is, I don’t trust the welfare judges to dare rule against the government; if they do, they’re immediately removed from their posts.
Vote for whomever you want, but don’t defend any politician. Have enough common sense to understand when something goes against your own interests and those of your families.
