The Mexican hotel industry is preparing to welcome one of the most prestigious names in luxury. Aman, the legendary brand founded by Adrian Zecha in 1988, has announced the opening this year of the Amanvari hotel, its first venture in Mexico, located in East Cape, Baja California Sur.

The resort will be part of Costa Palmas, a 400-hectare private beachfront community, 45 minutes from the Los Cabos airport and just outside La Ribera. This community also houses the Four Seasons Resort Los Cabos, a golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones II, 7 hectares of orchards and farms, as well as an exclusive beach and a yacht club. East Cape is known for its natural landscapes, with desert terrain meeting the waters of the Sea of Cortez, offering opportunities for outdoor exploration and water activities.

The architectural design combines clean, minimalist lines with natural materials such as local stone, white concrete, and tropical woods, creating a color palette that reflects the sandy tones of the surrounding desert.

Amanvari will feature 20 two-story pavilions on stilts and 24 residential villas, each designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, private plunge pools, and outdoor terraces. Both the hotel and residences were designed by the award-winning Athens-based firm ELASTIC Architects. Elastic Architects is renowned for its work on high-profile hotel and resort projects, including Delano Dubai, Banyan Tree Varko Bay, and Nalu Surf Club & Ilios Beach Club in Abu Dhabi.

The resort’s layout prioritizes open spaces and a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor areas, allowing guests to fully appreciate the surrounding environment. The pavilions and villas will be positioned to provide privacy while maintaining views of the coastline and mountains.

The dining options will feature local ingredients and a menu inspired by regional flavors. Guests will have access to a beach club, spa, and wellness center, as well as the recreational facilities at Costa Palmas.

Rodrigo Esponda, director of Fiturca, in an interview with REPORTUR.co in August 2025, referred to the six new luxury hotel brands, including an Aman, that will open in Los Cabos before any other Mexican Caribbean destination or tourist destination in Mexico.
