With the goal of strengthening road safety and providing financial relief to families in Hidalgo, the State Government launched the 2026 Vehicle Registration Renewal payment plan. This fiscal strategy not only seeks to regularize the vehicle registry but also rewards compliant taxpayers with significant incentives.
The program maintains the policy of offering benefits to those who have their vehicle inspected during the first half of the year, linking environmental responsibility with economic savings.
Preferential Rates and Additional Benefits
For this fiscal year, the State Treasury Department confirmed that registration renewal costs will vary depending on the vehicle’s inspection status. Private vehicles with current inspections will pay $1,050.00, while those without will pay $1,177.00.
For public transportation, the fee with verification is $1,350.00, while for motorcycles and trailers the cost is $821.00. People with disabilities are a priority group and can obtain their license plates for $588.00.
Beyond the administrative process, timely and complete registration activates a package of benefits that includes:
Civil liability insurance: Coverage of up to $150,000 pesos for damages to third parties.
Life insurance: Compensation of $50,000 pesos for accidental death of the driver.
Discount booklet: 10% savings on CAASIM bills, license renewals, and birth certificates.
Digitalization and streamlined registration
To avoid lines and unnecessary travel, the authorities have implemented the “Circula Seguro” (Safe Driving) program, which allows for digital registration since January 2nd. Taxpayers can check their outstanding balance on the Tax Portal or through the eSIT mobile application by entering only their license plate number and the last five digits of the vehicle identification number (VIN).
In addition to digital options, such as the tax assistant via WhatsApp (771 710 2015), service kiosks have been installed in shopping centers in Pachuca, Tulancingo, and Tula.
Finally, the government announced a regularization program for vehicles with license plates registered to people with disabilities that have outstanding balances from previous years. This program offers tiered discounts on vehicle registration fees and renewals, ranging from 10% for 2025 to 80% for 2021 debts, making it easier for all sectors of the population to become current on their payments.
