Sport Fishing Underway
The starting gun for the 2026 Wahoo Classic International Sport Fishing Tournament was fired from the Puerto Los Cabos Marina. This event marks the beginning of the season in the municipality and is held in memory of Pablo Sánchez Navarro.
Competition and Prizes
A total of 31 boats set sail for the fishing competition, vying for a prize pool of one million pesos, solidifying the tournament as one of the most attractive at the start of the year.
Participation and Institutional Support
During the official opening ceremony, the Municipal Director of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Javier García Davis, highlighted that this is the first tournament of the year, with outstanding team participation.
He noted that the event is part of the President’s Cup and that, at the instruction of Mayor Christian Agúndez Gómez, the 15th City Council of Los Cabos continues its support for these competitions that strengthen fishing and tourism.
Organization and Logistics
Tournament organizer Antonio Aripez Navarro thanked the teams and authorities for their presence, emphasizing the importance of starting the year with an event of this magnitude.
He announced that the weigh-in would be open from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., followed by the official awards ceremony.
