The Morelia Planetarium is preparing to offer an unprecedented technological and sensory experience with the addition of an exterior videomapping show accompanied by surround sound, the Michoacán Ministry of Urban Development and Mobility announced this Thursday.

During a site visit, the head of the ministry, Gladyz Butanda Macías, and Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla reviewed the progress of the project, which will transform the iconic venue into an even more attractive space for visitors and families from Morelia.

“We will soon have videomapping at the Morelia Planetarium. It will be an unprecedented space experience,” the state official stated on her social media.

The project aims to utilize the Planetarium’s architecture as a canvas to project three-dimensional images synchronized with audio, offering a spectacle of science, light, and art.

In addition to the visual spectacle, “many more surprises” are planned to accompany this transformation, according to Butanda Macías, as part of the state government’s strategy to rehabilitate and revitalize public spaces.

The Morelia Planetarium has undergone renovations in recent months. With this new phase, the facility aims to establish itself as a leading tourist, scientific, and cultural attraction for the state.
