Senator Julieta Ramírez Padilla, a member of the Morena party, denied that the United States government had taken her life, as reported in the press in recent days.

During a meeting with residents of the Lomas de San Martín neighborhood in Tijuana, the legislator claimed she was the target of a smear campaign.

Ramírez Padilla, one of her party’s strongest candidates for the 2027 gubernatorial elections, said ironically that the rumors were the start of vulture season: “Birds of ill omen often gather to lie and slander… what is true is that vulture season has begun,” she remarked.

A clip from a live broadcast of the meeting between the legislator and the residents, recorded by journalist Ángel Peña, has been widely circulated on X—formerly Twitter. While addressing the speculation, Peña raises his voice to issue a challenge: “Let’s go to Disney tomorrow. Let’s see if you really have a visa.”

Initially, Julieta Ramírez interpreted the comment as a joke; however, faced with the man’s persistence, she chose to ignore it while bystanders confronted him.

This incident occurred months after key political figures in the state had their visas revoked. In May 2025, Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda confirmed the revocation of her permit. A week earlier, the same situation occurred with her then-husband, Carlos Torres Torres.
