The Colima State Civil Protection Unit (UEPC) reports that the Volcán de Fuego (Volcano of Fire) remains calm and without explosions, posing no risk to residents of nearby communities or visitors to this natural attraction.

The most recent data from the University Center for Volcanological Studies (CUEV) at the University of Colima, covering the period from January 16 to 22, 2026, indicates that seismometers recorded a high-frequency earthquake and a landslide, but no explosions.

The report notes that steam and gas emissions from the northeast side of the crater remain stable and low-activity. Furthermore, measurements of the distance between two GPS stations detected no changes related to volcanic activity.

The UEPC confirms that the various monitoring parameters indicate that the Colima Volcano remains calm and reiterates that the personnel responsible for volcanic surveillance remain attentive to any changes that may occur, urging the population to stay informed only through official channels and avoid spreading information not corroborated by official sources.
