Mexico considers cutting off oil to Cuba, but not for the sake of Pemex or Mexicans: out of fear of Trump

Sheinbaum’s government is secretly reviewing whether to stop sending oil to Cuba. The reason? It’s not because Pemex is bankrupt. It’s not because Mexicans pay the highest gasoline prices in the world. It’s because they fear Trump will retaliate.

The numbers are brutal: Pemex has $100.3 billion in debt, the most indebted oil company on the planet. Losses of 61.242 billion pesos in a single quarter. Technical bankruptcy. But that was never enough for Sheinbaum to reconsider giving away oil to a dictatorship.

What did make her tremble: U.S. Navy MQ-4C Triton drones flying over the Gulf of Mexico, precisely following the routes of Mexican tankers to Cuba. The same drones that appeared before Maduro’s capture. Trump directly asked Sheinbaum about the shipments in a call last week.

🤥 Sheinbaum hides behind the excuse that “all previous governments” sent oil to Cuba. That’s a lie. What they did was provide technical cooperation and investments. The MASSIVE shipments of subsidized crude oil began with López Obrador in 2023, and she tripled them.

🇨🇺 And does the oil reach the Cuban people? NO. A Cuban exile sums it up perfectly: “Mexico is giving them oil, Venezuela used to give them oil, and we’re still in crisis. The aid doesn’t benefit the people, but the regime.” Cuba continues to experience blackouts lasting 22 to 36 hours.

😤 Meanwhile, Mexicans pay more than $23.59 pesos per liter of gasoline, the highest price among the 10 countries with the highest consumption in the world. More expensive than Brazil, Japan, India, Canada, China, and the United States. But the priority was protecting Díaz-Canel… until Trump came along.
