The tourist destination of Isla Mujeres received the support of the Mexican Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, for its international campaign, “Paradise with Heart.”

The strategy strengthens the presence and positioning of the vacation destination worldwide, within the framework of the 2026 International Tourism Fair (FITUR).

During her visit to the Mexican Caribbean pavilion, the federal official toured the stand and greeted the Isla Mujeres delegation, headed by Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde.

She expressed her appreciation to the delegation for the “Paradise with Heart” campaign, highlighting its tourism diversification and the wide range of attractions the municipality has to offer Mexico and the world.

Gómez Ricalde thanked the Mexican government for its support and emphasized that Isla Mujeres presented a clear vision of socially responsible tourism at FITUR.

“We arrived in Madrid with pride in our people and with the conviction that tourism should serve to improve the lives of families, while caring for our environment and our identity,” she expressed.

Josefina Rodríguez acknowledged that Isla Mujeres showcased a comprehensive tourism offering that combined natural beauty, culture, gastronomy, and community experiences.

Gómez Ricalde emphasized that “Paradise with Heart” reflects her administration’s commitment to promoting a responsible tourism development model.

“Isla Mujeres offers more than just sun and sand; it offers history, traditions, and the heart of its people, which is what distinguishes us to the world,” she noted.

This vacation destination was part of the delegation promoting the Mexican Caribbean to tour operators, hotels, travel agencies, and airlines from 195 countries.

Isla Mujeres is one of the 64 stands that make up the XML Pavilion at this historic edition of FITUR, where Mexico participated as the guest partner country, enhancing its international profile.

The mayor of Isla Mujeres emphasized that this participation strengthens strategic alliances and opens new promotional opportunities for the municipality.

“We take advantage of every opportunity to tell the world that Isla Mujeres is an authentic destination, one that cherishes what it loves and shares its benefits with its people,” she stated.

Finally, the mayor reiterated that Isla Mujeres’ success at FITUR 2026 was the result of coordinated efforts between the different levels of government and the tourism sector.

A campaign was successfully launched that showcased the municipality as a paradise to be enjoyed, respected, and cared for with heartfelt dedication.
