Early Friday morning, four members of the National Guard, who had been kidnapped in Huichapan, Hidalgo, were located in a community in San Juan del Río, Querétaro.

The officers were taken to the La Boticaria Military Hospital in Boca del Río.

One of them was found dead at the hospital, and the others had been beaten and were bound.

The victim’s body was found on the access bridge to the community of San Miguel Arcángel, on the Palmillas-Portezuelo highway.

National Guard members located the body of the deceased officer, who was reportedly identified as a commander.

The area was cordoned off, and the Querétaro State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) was notified so that its forensic experts could investigate.

Meanwhile, the search continued for the other two kidnapped officers, who were found minutes later in a hilly area on the Hidalgo side of the border.
