Durango continues to gain tourism visibility and connectivity. Governor Esteban Villegas Villarreal announced that Volaris will launch a new flight to southern Mexico, a result of negotiations conducted at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR).

The governor emphasized that Durango’s presence at FITUR helped position the state internationally and open new opportunities for the tourism sector.

He also highlighted the impact of the arrival of the Titan Desert, one of the world’s most important cycling competitions, which will bring together 500 participants and showcase the state’s unique landscapes to the world.

“Everyone is asking why Durango, and it’s because we have mountains, valleys, and desert—something you won’t find anywhere else,” he noted.

Villegas explained that the race will create permanent mountain biking routes, attracting sports tourism year-round. He added that the Titan Desert agreement was signed for three years, guaranteeing continuity and economic benefits for the state.
