A businessman from Durango suffered a robbery of his merchandise and his truck on the highway known as the Arco Norte, according to Reynaldo Dozal, vice president of the Francisco Villa Market, who stated that the losses could exceed five million pesos.
In an interview, the businessman indicated that 15 days ago, a truck belonging to a Durango resident was stolen, as was one belonging to someone from Sinaloa. Both trucks were loaded with merchandise, resulting in significant losses for the business owners.
Reynaldo Dozal pointed out that the highway begins in the state of Querétaro and ends in Puebla, covering approximately 300 kilometers. He asserted that despite the presence of security forces, criminal activity continues.
“I’m desperate about this situation. I don’t understand why the authorities can’t find a solution. The Arco Norte is a terrible place,” he said. Vice President of the Francisco Villa Market
Dozal indicated that while these types of situations cause fear among business owners and lead to insurance premiums increasing by up to 20 percent, they must continue working and patrolling the area, hoping that no security incidents occur.
Last Thursday, January 22, officers from the State Police (PE) in the state of Puebla arrested three individuals from the state of Veracruz as alleged perpetrators of cargo truck robberies.
According to initial reports, the arrests took place near the community of El Moral, where officers spotted three men allegedly involved in this criminal activity.
The detainees were identified as Fabián N., 21; Jorge M., 45; and Kevin R., 21, all from the state of Veracruz.
