At least five people were killed Sunday afternoon in the town of Ayapa, in the municipality of Jalpa de Méndez. They were shot while the group was on the side of the road with their motorcycles.
According to initial reports, the attackers were traveling in a vehicle and fled the scene after shooting them, leaving some of their victims with serious injuries, according to neighbors who arrived at the location.
However, when paramedics arrived, the victims showed no vital signs.
The Jalpa de Méndez municipal police reported the case to the State Attorney General’s Office, which is now investigating. At the time of this report, there was no official statement regarding the incident.
