With an academic, cultural and sports agenda, the institution commemorates 5 decades of presence in Mexico City

In 2026, Tecnológico de Monterrey celebrates 50 years of presence in Mexico City, which will be marked by different academic, cultural, and sports celebrations on the campuses of Santa Fethe State of Mexico, and Mexico City.

Paulina Campos, vice president of the Tec’s campuses in Mexico City, underscored the Tec’s continued presence in the capital, its links with government, companies, and society; and the academic, social and cultural impact that goes from the capital to the international.

He also stressed that this commemoration is not only an exercise in historical memory, but an opportunity to strengthen its role as an active actor in public discussion and in the construction of solutions to the main urban challenges.

“Universities not only train talent; we also produce knowledge, generate evidence and have an active responsibility in the construction of better cities”.

An agenda that seeks to contribute to Mexico City

This anniversary will be marked by an agenda articulated around 2 strategic axes:

The Center for the Future of Cities and the Tlalpan District, both initiatives of Tec de Monterrey, with the purpose of linking the institution with society, government, academia and improving development in the south of the capital, and in the cities of Mexico and Latin America.

“Celebrating this anniversary is also committing ourselves to what is to come: to contribute to making Mexico City more livable, fairer and better prepared for the future,” added Paulina Campos.
