The 195th anniversary of Vicente Guerrero’s death will be commemorated in Huatulco.

This Saturday, February 14th, the Municipal Government of Santa María Huatulco, headed by Mayor Julio Cárdenas, invited residents and visitors to the commemoration of the 195th anniversary of the death of General Vicente Ramón Guerrero Saldaña, a national hero, at La Entrega Beach.

The day will begin at 7:00 AM with the starting flag for the Sport Fishing Tournament. At 9:00 AM, the commemorative civic ceremony will take place, followed by the start of the sporting events at 9:40 AM, including swimming, soccer, and beach volleyball. At 10:30 AM, DJ Charlie will provide the music.

The afternoon will be filled with cultural and traditional activities, beginning with a cultural performance on the beach at 1:30 PM. At 2:00 PM, the traditional Greased Pole Climbing contest will take place, an activity that promises plenty of fun. The awards ceremony for the Sport Fishing Tournament will take place at 4:30 PM. To close the day’s events, at 5:00 PM, the Magallón Organization and La Súper Candela will perform at a large public dance.

This commemoration seeks to honor the legacy of General Vicente Guerrero, promoting history, identity, sports, and family togetherness in Santa María Huatulco.
