Family and neighbors held a wake for the family who died of carbon monoxide poisoning on February 8th in the Leobardo Coca neighborhood of Puebla. The mother and her two children were released to their relatives.

According to the Puebla State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), the victims were identified as Catalina N., 37 years old; Ingrid N., 12 years old; and Julio N., 10 years old.

Following this tragedy, neighbors in the Leobardo Coca neighborhood rallied around the loved ones of the deceased to hold the funeral services.

According to María Maricela Flores, Catalina N.’s sister, she and the rest of the family have been surrounded by support since the tragedy.

She stated that neighbors and the schools where the children studied provided assistance with funeral expenses. The schools will receive a small fee to cover the costs of the wake for the family who died of carbon monoxide poisoning in Puebla.

“We were notified about my sister at 3:00 a.m., and she went to tell me. Then they told us we had to come to a car, and from there they called us. They told us not to come to the house, but to go to the morgue because that’s where the bodies were. The schools and the women are helping us.”

According to the family, a funeral mass will be held on February 11. Afterward, the three bodies will be taken to the Municipal Cemetery where they will be buried.

Following the wake for the family who died of poisoning in Puebla, the Puebla Prosecutor’s Office communications department detailed part of the investigation.

According to the agency, a pot of food was found on the stove at the home located on Xochimilco private street. It began to burn, and the smoke alerted neighbors who called 911.

[The following appears to be unrelated and possibly a separate entry:] Paramedics from the municipal Civil Protection agency found the three people deceased. The Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) was then called to the scene and removed the bodies.

The corresponding autopsies were performed, and the bodies were subsequently released to the families. The family held a wake at a residence near the scene of the incident.
