To date, neither Deyanira Altamirano Gómez nor Alejandro Andrey Tejada Morales have issued a public statement regarding their son’s photos. However, the dissemination of these photos has raised questions about the consistency of the Morena party’s discourse of austerity in light of the lavish lifestyle displayed by Kevin Tejada.
Posting photos with weapons for the exclusive use of the Army on social media can pose a legal risk, as their possession is strictly regulated by the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives. Furthermore, public criticism focuses on the contrast between the parents’ official income and the lifestyle displayed, sparking a debate about transparency and ethics in public office.
Deyanira Altamirano Gómez declared a monthly salary of 31,640 pesos in 2025 and a net annual income of 960,000 pesos, in addition to two houses acquired in 2017 and 2018 and a vehicle. In 2022, she was accused of charging 800,000 pesos to artisans in the Historic Center of the Guelaguetza festival while serving as the councilwoman for Gender Equality.
Alejandro Andrey Tejada Morales reported a monthly salary of 25,997.30 pesos in 2025 and a net annual income of 840,000 pesos, with no registered real estate or vehicles.
The release of these images has reignited the debate about the consistency between the Morena party’s principles of austerity and the lifestyles of public officials’ relatives.
