In a second operation against crime in the municipality of Ocozocotla de Espinosa, state security forces and soldiers of the Mexican Army apprehended on Wednesday four alleged members of the Chiapas-Guatemala Cartel, bringing the total number of detainees of that group in the recent hours to seven.
The Secretariat of People’s Security reported that “as a result of the second operational intervention, four more people, including two minors, were arrested.
The minors were identified as Carlos “N” and Cristian D “N” alias “El Buqui”, in addition to the adults Ricardo “N” alias “Tiburoncín” and “Cristian “N”.Play Video
The detainees said that they are part of the structure of the Chiapas-Guatemala Cartel, which operates in this entity and in neighboring areas of that Central American country.
In the operation, a special handgun, caliber 9 millimeters with 9 useful cartridges, an AK-47 long gun caliber 7.62 x 39 millimeters with two magazines, as well as 23 useful cartridges were seized.
The alleged hitmen were also seized a motorcycle and 23 bags of the crystal drug.
Hours earlier, during a confrontation by land and air, the first three alleged members of the Chiapas-Guatemala Cartel were captured in a community in the municipality of Ocozocautla de Espinosa, where they secured firearms, vehicles, and tactical equipment.
The detainees who confronted the military and police are identified as Mefiboset “N”, Josué “N”, and David “N”.
When the subjects saw the uniformed officers, they fired their firearms in the area of the Ocuilapa – Apic Pac highway section.
They were in possession of three long guns, four vehicles, two motorcycles, 26 magazines, 810 cartridges, and 3 ballistic vests.
As a result of that first operation, the Secretariat of People’s Security reported that “the corresponding protocol was applied for the containment and detention” of the armed subjects, who had three long guns, four vehicles, two motorcycles, 26 magazines, 810 cartridges, and 3 ballistic vests.
The Secretariat of People’s Security added that the three alleged hitmen were placed at ministerial and judicial disposal, where their legal situation will be resolved.
This Wednesday’s operation in that Valle-Zoque region is part of the security strategy applied by the state government “to dismantle criminal groups” in the state.
Agents of the Pakal Immediate Reaction Force, the State Preventive Guard, the Ministerial Investigation and Intelligence Agency, as well as the State Attorney General’s Office, the Attorney General’s Office, and elements of the Mexican Army participated in the actions and security deployment carried out by land and air.
