FITURCA is working on new routes from Los Cabos to London and the Emirates

As part of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust’s annual report, it was announced that the goal for 2026 is to continue diversifying the destination’s visitors.

After years of work, they see an alliance with British Airways, with a direct route to London, as increasingly likely; in addition to ongoing negotiations with Emirates, seeking to attract the Middle Eastern market.

“A very interesting case is that of British Airways, whose numbers from the United Kingdom continue to increase year after year by up to 25%, and the profile of the traveler coming via the United States or Mexico, who pays for a business class seat, is very interesting.”

They estimate that in 2025 there were at least 7,000 tourists arriving from the United Kingdom; in the case of the United Arab Emirates or the Middle East, growth has not yet reached that level, however, talks are progressing positively toward finalizing this route.

“The volume of travelers coming isn’t that large; there needs to be a stimulus factor. Each airline is different, and the important thing with Emirates is that they’re not looking for something specific. Their strategy is global, connecting with Asia, Europe, Central America, and many countries worldwide. Their strategy is to interconnect other regions and expand their network.”

Esponda highlighted the arrival of airlines in 2025 serving secondary markets that are highly relevant to the destination, including: direct flights from Austin by Delta; St. Louis and Nashville with Southwest; Oakland and Ontario with Volaris; Toronto and Montreal with WestJet; and flights to Panama and Frankfurt. Currently, three routes are already confirmed for early 2026: Indianapolis, Las Vegas, and Querétaro.
