The price of Persian limes in the Oxkutzcab market is showing positive upward trends. On Wednesday, February 18th, the average price for export-quality green limes was 470 pesos per 18 kg box. Lemon-colored limes were purchased for an average of 250 pesos per box; these prices may fluctuate according to supply and demand.
The price of Persian limes being paid at the San Manuel weigh station in Martínez de la Torre, Veracruz, influences the purchase price of green limes in other markets, as well as the price of Persian limes from Yucatán, which are already consolidating their quality and have crossed borders.
The economic impact generated by the sale of Persian limes to the more than 4,000 citrus producers in the southern region of the state creates economic benefits that stimulate the regional economy.
