Man wanted in the US for alleged kidnapping, aggravated assault and domestic violence arrested in Mazatlán

Óscar “N”, wanted by U.S. judicial authorities for his alleged involvement in kidnapping, aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, weapons possession, unlawful dispossession of property, and domestic violence, was arrested in Mazatlán by personnel from the Mexican Navy.

According to a press release, the Mexican Navy, through the Fourth Naval Region, in coordination with the Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection, the National Migration Institute, and international agencies, reported that on Friday, February 20, an arrest warrant for extradition purposes was executed in the port city.

Following field and intelligence work, and as a result of inter-institutional coordination, naval personnel arrested Óscar “N” in compliance with a valid federal arrest warrant issued by U.S. judicial authorities for his alleged involvement in the crimes of kidnapping, aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, weapons possession, unlawful dispossession of property, and domestic violence.

The detainee was informed of his rights and was placed at the disposal of the competent authorities, in order to continue with the corresponding legal procedure for his extradition.
