The Chiapas-based airline AeroBalam is expanding its presence in southern Mexico with the launch of a new air route linking Tuxtla Gutiérrez with Oaxaca and Huatulco, a move aimed at strengthening regional mobility and boosting tourism between neighboring states.
The inaugural Tuxtla-Oaxaca-Tuxtla-Huatulco flight was announced alongside the Governor of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara Cruz, at an event that underscores the commitment to greater economic and tourism integration in southeastern Mexico. The new route will provide a direct connection between three destinations with strong cultural and beach potential, facilitating both leisure and business travel.
The Tuxtla-Huatulco route will have a fare of 1,500 pesos per passenger, with an approximate duration of one and a half hours. Flights will operate on Thursdays, with return flights on Sundays.
The Tuxtla-Oaxaca connection will cost 2,000 pesos per person. There will be flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, both outbound and return, expanding travel options in the region.
In addition to strengthening connectivity between Chiapas and Oaxaca, the airline announced that it will soon launch the Tuxtla-Houston route and vice versa, as part of a strategy to position Chiapas in the international market.
The route expansion comes at a time when state authorities emphasize that security coordination has been a key factor in boosting tourism and creating conditions of confidence for investment and air travel.
With these new routes, AeroBalam aims to consolidate Tuxtla as a strategic hub in southern Mexico, in a region seeking greater visibility and economic dynamism.
