Tampico International Airport has just been ranked among the top five airports in the country. This decision was made thanks to the 2025 ASQ Customer Experience Awards, which primarily recognize the most credible excellence in customer service.

Presented annually by Airports Council International (ACI), this award is based on the opinions of thousands of customers who have firsthand experience at the airport, as well as exclusive ASQ data on flight quality, departures, and arrivals.

Which other Mexican airports are among the best?
In this case, Tampico International Airport “Francisco Javier Mina” was recognized in the category of best departure airports with fewer than 2 million passengers per year. The other five Mexican airports highlighted are those in Monterrey, Durango, Guanajuato, Hermosillo, and Tampico.

Based on ACI’s established criteria, the ASQ (Airport Service Quality) program analyzed more than 30 performance indicators to make this decision.

Through a robust sampling process, Tampico was included on this list, and quality controls, passenger surveys, infrastructure, cleanliness levels, and staff dedication were analyzed, all of which contribute to excellent customer service.

It’s worth noting that the airport is operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Centro Norte (OMA), which also manages terminals such as those in Monterrey and Durango, both of which are among the top five.
