Ten years after the implementation of the Gender Violence Alert (GVA) in Veracruz, official figures and the reality on the ground confirm an institutional paralysis…
The alert issued by the State Coordination of Civil Protection and Risk Management recommends that residents remain in safe places until official information is available that allows for a safer resumption of activities.
The state government, led by Governor Salomón Jara Cruz, clarifies that the alert specifically applies to those who are constantly on the move, such as freight transport and vehicles carrying fuel or hazardous materials, to strengthen their self-protection measures.
The statement from the Morena party government explains that these measures have a preventative focus and aim to reduce risks, prioritizing the protection of the population’s safety.
“The State Civil Protection and Risk Management Commission (CEPCYGR) urges citizens to stay informed only through official channels,” concludes the statement, which was issued following the blockades and fires that occurred on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
