Querétaro has another opportunity to attract more relocated companies, given the effects of the war in the Middle East, stated the Secretary of Sustainable Development, Marco del Prete.

He emphasized that companies with their market in North America will seek to relocate to places like Mexico to avoid going through the Middle East, which will boost the region.

“While it’s not a supply issue, it is a logistics issue. What will happen is that many companies will seek to relocate to where their main markets are, such as Mexico, to avoid going through the Middle East if necessary.”

He specified that the existing distribution capabilities in Mexico for countries like the United States, Canada, and Europe can be leveraged.

“So that could encourage relocation, and as the Vice President of Zebra said, Querétaro was chosen because of its strategic location.” “Which sectors do companies see as having potential? Manufacturing is very important, and so is logistics,” he said.

He emphasized that in 2025, the effects of relocation were seen in the expansion of companies in the state, as plant relocations are less common. He cited the cases of Bombardier, Safran, Nexteer, Valeo, among others.

“All of these companies that expanded their capabilities in Querétaro are relocating. They saw that they can develop more here, they can build better,” he stated.

He noted that in the first two months of the year, they have finalized eight investment projects, representing three billion pesos and generating 900 jobs.

He added that they have 48 projects in their pipeline, of which 26 are new projects and 22 are expansions.
