Following the cancellations at the end of February due to the violence that erupted after the capture and death of Nemesio Oseguera, “El Mencho,” in Tapalpa, cruise ship arrivals in Puerto Vallarta have begun to pick up.
The State Tourism Secretariat indicated that, after the blockades on February 22, some cruise ships scheduled to arrive at the tourist destination canceled their visits.
The violent events resulted in the burning of more than 200 vehicles and 60 businesses by organized crime, which temporarily impacted tourism in the port.
