In Durango, there are many independent rescuers who do extraordinary work protecting and caring for hundreds of street animals, giving them a better quality of life.
This is the case of Graciela Carrillo, an independent rescuer who, for the past decade, has been providing homes and a second chance to street dogs.
Graciela Carrillo is a woman who has dedicated a decade of her life to protecting and safeguarding the well-being of dozens of street dogs, all of whom have been rescued from difficult situations.
This independent rescuer is not seeking funding for her shelter; she is only requesting in-kind donations to continue meeting the needs of these dogs, primarily food such as kibble, cleaning supplies, roofing sheets, tarps, and other items that help improve the dogs’ quality of life.
As an independent rescuer, Graciela Carrillo covers all the expenses involved in running a shelter with over 40 dogs of different breeds, sizes, and needs.
Despite this, she doesn’t give up; she cleans and feeds these dogs every day, maintaining the shelter in optimal condition in terms of organization and hygiene.
If people would like to help this independent rescuer, they can join her cause by donating dog food and any other supplies she might need at her shelter.
The monthly expenses for rent and utilities are high, but she manages them to provide a suitable space for her more than 40 dogs, who now have a new opportunity and receive dignified treatment.
