Congressman Pedro Armentía, of the Citizens’ Movement party, asserted that the current public transportation project in Campeche is failing to meet the objectives for which it was contracted and tendered, thus labeling it a failed project. During his address to the State Congress, he pointed out that citizens continue to face problems with routes, transfers, and the system’s operation, a situation that has generated dissatisfaction among service users.
The legislator explained that the Congress approved a resolution, promoted by members of the PRI and Citizens’ Movement parties, requesting detailed information from Artec (the agency responsible for public transportation) regarding the operation of the mobility system, including data on routes, telemetry, and the performance of the vehicles. He indicated that the shortcomings are not limited to a single district but are present in various areas of the state where citizens have reported deficiencies in the service.
Armentía stated that the director of Artec has until the 30th to present a report on the project and its scope. He added that the goal is to serve the public and resolve public transportation problems, so that the people of Campeche have a mobility service that truly meets their expectations.
