This Wednesday, March 18, 2026, the blockade continues for the second consecutive day on Marina Nacional, in the Miguel Hidalgo borough; here’s how it affects traffic in the area.
This Wednesday, March 18, 2026, oil workers are maintaining a blockade for the second consecutive day on Marina Nacional, in the Miguel Hidalgo borough of Mexico City (CDMX). We’ll tell you the alternate routes to avoid the traffic chaos near the Pemex Tower.
The protesters are members of the National Union of Petroleum Technicians and Professionals, who set up three tents yesterday near Laguna de Mairán, heading towards Circuito Interior, in the aforementioned borough, where they spent the night.
They are retired men and women, as well as active workers, who are denouncing union discrimination and demanding:
A salary increase for all petroleum professionals, both active and retired, in accordance with applicable labor laws.
Better working conditions and full recognition of their union rights.
According to information from the Mexico City Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) regarding marches and demonstrations, members of the National Union of Petroleum Technicians and Professionals will gather at 2:00 p.m. at the Chamber of Deputies in the Venustiano Carranza borough.
Since early this morning, a traffic operation has been in place by SSC officers on Marina Nacional. The following alternative routes are recommended:
Mexico-Tacuba.
Circuito Interior.
Río San Joaquín.
Camarones.
Motorists are advised to plan their trips in advance, avoid the area if possible, and seek alternate routes.
