Mexico City is currently hosting the 12th Indigenous Cultures Festival at the iconic Constitution Square, also known as the Zócalo. The event, which opened on August 18 and is scheduled to run through August 23, 2026, serves as a vibrant platform to showcase the rich diversity and ancestral traditions of Mexico’s indigenous communities.

Inside a large exhibition tent, visitors can explore a wide variety of handmade goods, including embroidered garments, woven products, copper accessories, and unique painted handicrafts. The festival offers an immersive experience where attendees can taste local specialty drinks and observe artisans demonstrating traditional skills, such as intricate embroidery and the creation of handmade headdresses and ornaments. This annual gathering highlights the cultural heritage of indigenous groups, providing a space for artisans to share their craftsmanship with the public and promote sustainable appreciation for their traditional arts.
