The Men’s Senior and Women’s Junior teams secured their spots in the country’s premier youth sporting event.
Following the conclusion of the Regional Beach Volleyball Tournament, held in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Baja California confirmed the qualification of two of its teams for the National Olympics.
The first spot for the state came in the Men’s Senior category (18-19 years old), where the duo of José Luis Bojórquez and Eduardo Escoto Castro, coached by Alejandro Martínez Padilla, finished in first place, thus securing their place in the country’s premier youth sporting event.
During the final day, the Baja Californians played an intense match against Chihuahua, in which they rallied after losing the first set to win in three sets: 18-21, 21-7, and 15-13. Later, they confirmed their strong form by defeating Sonora with scores of 21-19 and 21-17, results that solidified their lead.
The second qualification for Baja California came in the Junior Women’s category (16-17 years old), where the pair of Britany Olmedo Salas and Nataly Ortega Vaca, coached by Imelda Mendoza Loa, finished in second place at the regional tournament, a result sufficient to secure their spot in the National Olympics.
