At President Claudia Sheinbaum’s daily press conference, the 40th edition of the Zacatecas Cultural Festival 2026 was presented, and it was announced that the event is expected to generate over 500 million pesos in economic activity.

Promoting the event, the Secretary of Tourism for the Mexican government, Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, stated that this festival, which will take place from March 29 to April 11, “is the most important in the central region of the country,” featuring more than 400 cultural activities.

She highlighted that the number of scheduled activities has doubled and added, “I would like to thank and congratulate Governor David Monreal and the Zacatecas State Tourism Secretariat for their significant efforts.”

The Secretary affirmed that the program also “includes a great deal of local talent, giving us a compelling reason to visit Zacatecas during this time.”

At the press conference, a promotional video was shown highlighting some of the artists and groups featured in the main concert lineup at the Plaza de Armas, including Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Los Auténticos Decadentes, Pablo Alborán, Alondra de la Parra, and Billy Idol.

Josefina Rodríguez later added that the festival will take place in various plazas throughout the Historic Center of Zacatecas, a unique city in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

She also emphasized that it is a cultural festival for the whole family, offering tourists a reason to “experience this great, great state.”
