The Secretary General of the Government of Zacatecas, Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza, reported that an attack occurred Tuesday afternoon in the Francisco Villa neighborhood of Guadalupe, resulting in the deaths of a couple. The attack involved gunfire.
In a video shared on social media, the internal affairs official announced that road blockades were reported on several highways.
“Although the situation is now under control and security forces are being allowed to pass, we also want to appeal to the conscience of those currently blocking roads to allow the security operation to proceed quickly,” he emphasized in a statement.
The official stated that the attack targeted three people, two of whom—a woman and a man—lost their lives.
“We already have a solid line of investigation to find those responsible,” he assured.
The State Peace and Security Commission stated that a security operation was immediately implemented in the area and remains in effect.
“The injured person was taken to a hospital for medical attention. A security operation was immediately implemented in the area to locate the likely perpetrators,” the commission said.
