The CTE meeting, held on the last Friday of each month, suspends activities for students, although teachers are required to attend to work on academic planning and evaluation. This time, the meeting coincides with the start of the vacation period, resulting in a 17-day school holiday weekend.

According to the Ministry of Public Education, the Easter break runs from March 27 to April 10, with classes scheduled to resume on Monday, April 13. This measure applies to all public and private elementary schools in Campeche and throughout the rest of the country.
The news has generated mixed reactions: while many parents celebrate the extended break as an opportunity to travel or spend time with family, others question the length of the school recess. On social media, some users are already calling it the “mega Easter weekend,” since students will be out of the classroom for more than two consecutive weeks.
In Campeche, the State Education Secretariat (SEDUC) confirmed that the state calendar aligns with the national one, so the dates for school closures and vacations are the same. Therefore, schools are expected to remain closed starting this Friday, and students will enjoy a longer vacation period than usual.
