Coahuila detects ‘silent’ incursions by organized crime

In recent hours, the Coahuila Attorney General’s Office has successfully intercepted the incursion of criminal groups that, in a piecemeal and clandestine manner, have attempted to initiate illegal activities such as drug trafficking and firearms-related operations.

The first incident occurred in Torreón, where a house was seized containing narcotics and six firearms. Subsequently, in the central region, a ranch was secured by agents from all three levels of government, resulting in arrests.

This also occurred in Sabinas, where the Civil Police arrested three individuals from Tamaulipas with two rifles, ammunition, and drugs.

Attorney General Federico Fernández Montañez announced that, based on intelligence data, a property was seized in that municipality, and highlighted that four search warrants have been executed in the last 72 hours.

He stated that these actions have yielded results that demonstrate the effectiveness of security efforts in the state.

“We are the safest state, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t vigilant or that nothing happens; we prevent everything that needs to be prevented, and we demonstrate that we are constantly on alert,” he stated.

The prosecutor reiterated that surveillance and response efforts are ongoing to prevent criminal groups from operating in the state.

In 2025 alone, 509 raids were carried out in Coahuila, while so far in 2026, through March, the total is over 184.

Of these, 32 were in the Laguna region and 17 in Saltillo.

Authorities indicated that these operations are part of an ongoing strategy to deter crimes related to drug trafficking and weapons use, as well as to detect possible incursions by criminal groups in different areas of the state.
