The Governor of Guanajuato officially launched the security operation to safeguard the safety of local and visiting vacationers.
At the event held at the C5i command center of the Ministry of Security and Peace in the inland port of Silao, the governor emphasized that the security efforts are one of the greatest symbols of coordination and strength in the state.
The operation comprises 25 state agencies, along with the police forces of all 46 municipalities, civil protection, firefighters, the Red Cross, and volunteer groups. A total of 24,954 men and women will participate, supported by more than 680 special units, ambulances, boats, helicopters, and other vehicles, with the support and accompaniment of the state and federal prosecutors’ offices.
From Thursday, March 26, until April 12, security forces comprised of members of state, municipal, and federal agencies will be protecting vacation destinations and highways throughout the state.
