Family and friends said their final goodbyes to Jesús Héctor and his son Sebastián, while authorities investigate the cause of their deaths in Hermosillo, Sonora.
According to preliminary information, the father and son received an intravenous infusion (vitamin serum) at a private clinic before their deaths.
The Sonora State Attorney General’s Office is conducting an investigation to determine if there is a connection between this procedure and the deaths.
“The Sonora State Attorney General’s Office (FGJES) reports that it has an ongoing investigation into the deaths of two people, allegedly related to the administration of an intravenous serum,” the authorities stated.
As part of the investigation, authorities searched a residence in the Jesús García neighborhood, where they seized various pieces of evidence.
“As part of the investigation, a search warrant was executed at a property located in the Jesús García neighborhood of Hermosillo, where various medications, injectable solutions, bottles of liquids, files, computer equipment, and video recording devices were seized. This evidence will be analyzed as part of the case file,” stated the press release from the Sonora State Attorney General’s Office.
“The property remains under the control of this agency and continues to be processed by ministerial, forensic, and Criminal Investigation Agency (AMIC) personnel,” the Attorney General’s Office added.
The Attorney General’s Office confirmed that a person of interest has been identified and is being investigated for possible involvement in the events.
“Likewise, we are working in coordination with health authorities to clarify the circumstances of the case and determine responsibility. To date, no official conclusions have been released.
Additionally, a person of interest has been fully identified, and their probable involvement in the events is under investigation.
In parallel, the Prosecutor’s Office is working in coordination with Sonora Health authorities to gather the technical and sanitary information necessary to precisely establish the circumstances surrounding the events and, if applicable, determine responsibility. The Sonora State Attorney General’s Office will continue to provide updates as the investigation progresses,” the statement concludes.
The funeral ceremonies were held on April 1st, where loved ones gathered to bid farewell to both victims and express their condolences to the family.
During the religious service, prayers were offered for their eternal rest, and the family requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Casa Hogar Mesón Don Bosco nursing home.
