Just days before the start of Holy Week, the tourism sector in the “City of Portals” is beginning to show positive signs, with hotel occupancy nearing 75%, driven by the early arrival of visitors.

According to the tourism office, headed by María José Barriga, a significant influx of people was recorded over the weekend, mainly from nearby municipalities such as Navojoa, Etchojoa, and Huatabampo.

She explained that the arrival of regional tours has contributed to this increase, marking the beginning of what is expected to be a busy holiday season for the municipality.

One of the areas with the highest concentration of tourists has been the Nahuibampo River, where families came to spend time together and enjoy the natural surroundings.

The official emphasized that this site has become one of the main attractions during this period, registering high visitor numbers since the weekend.

In addition to the natural spaces, activities such as the Rural Women’s Expo and the traditional Cultural Sunday also attracted visitors, strengthening Álamos’ tourism and cultural offerings.

These events helped boost the local economy and provide recreational options for those who have already begun arriving in the municipality.

Given the increase in visitors, authorities urged the public to exercise extreme caution, especially in areas with water.

Parents were encouraged to keep a close eye on their children to prevent accidents during the season.

With this outlook, Álamos is poised to receive a significant number of tourists in the coming days. With positive expectations for the sector and a commitment to ensuring a safe stay for all visitors, hotel occupancy is expected to rise slightly above the current 75%.
