Sonora Restaurants Prepare Promotions and Mexican Cuisine Dishes for the National Holidays
Restaurants in Sonora are already preparing promotions and dishes inspired by Mexican cuisine to welcome customers during the national holiday celebrations, one of the busiest seasons for the restaurant industry.
Manuel Lira Valenzuela, national council member of the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Seasoned Food Industry (Canirac), explained that each establishment adapts its offerings according to its customers’ profile and the activities taking place during these dates.
“Many already have some promotion; here in Hermosillo and approximately 300 nationwide; we represent 700,000 restaurants in Mexico,” he emphasized.
Among the strategies are the incorporation of foods related to Mexican celebrations, as well as special offerings that seek to combine gastronomy with sports or entertainment activities during the festivities.

“Dishes related to the events, Mexican cuisine cravings, Mexican-style foods, and Mexican pizzas; everyone adapts to the circumstances,” Lira Valenzuela commented.
Although the national holiday celebrations will take place during the week this year, the sector estimates that some establishments could record increases of between 15% and 50% in sales, depending on the day, the type of business, and customer turnout.
The Canirac representative highlighted that the celebrations also represent an opportunity for establishments that have bars or social spaces, where there is usually greater customer turnout during this type of festivities.
Finally, regarding the consumption of alcoholic beverages during the celebrations, Lira Valenzuela called on the public to enjoy responsibly and avoid driving under their influence.
He also noted that historically, after the national holiday celebrations, restaurants begin to see a recovery in customer turnout as temperatures decrease in Sonora.
