The construction of the Cablebús (cable car) in the city of Puebla received the green light after a District Court of the Federal Judiciary denied the definitive suspension of the project.
Judge Jorge Arroyo Martínez, of the Seventh District Court for Amparo (constitutional protection) matters in Puebla, determined that the actions complained of, including the felling, pruning, and removal of trees, did not occur. Therefore, he found no impediment to the project, which is currently in the planning stage, continuing its course.
This ruling was issued on March 30, 2026, and is recorded in case file 362/2026. The judge denies that any action had been taken against urban vegetation within the framework of the project, stating that the plaintiffs did not provide sufficient evidence to refute this finding.
“The definitive suspension is denied with respect to the responsible authorities and the challenged actions, in accordance with the considerations in Chapter IV of this resolution. Notify accordingly,” the document states.
It is worth noting that the hearing took place a week after the Third Collegiate Court for Administrative Matters of the Circuit resolved a complaint—number 133/2026—granting a provisional suspension for any intervention in green areas.
During the hearing, the Court explained that the complainants’ argument regarding the potential impact on the green areas where the Cablebús (cable car) would pass was partially founded; however, Judge Jorge Arroyo Martínez again denied the definitive suspension.
