The luxury real estate markets of San Miguel de Allende and Querétaro begin 2026 with solid activity in the first quarter

San Miguel Sotheby’s International Realty and Querétaro Sotheby’s International Realty reported a strong first quarter in 2026, with continued demand from both domestic and international buyers seeking second homes, investment properties, retirement homes, and primary residences in Central Mexico.

The first quarter marked one of the firm’s most active starts to the year, driven by sustained interest in real estate in San Miguel de Allende, luxury homes for sale in San Miguel de Allende, and high-end residences in Querétaro.

San Miguel de Allende continued to attract international buyers, particularly those seeking second homes, retirement properties, and rental investment opportunities. Querétaro also recorded one of its strongest quarters to date, with growing demand from both domestic and an increasing number of international buyers. Interest from those relocating from Mexico City remains strong, while international buyers are discovering more than ever Querétaro’s economic strength, modern infrastructure, and high quality of life.

While global uncertainty has influenced the pace of some purchase decisions in recent weeks, overall market activity in both cities remains solid and above seasonal expectations.
