Toll booths are increasing on the Saltillo-Monterrey Highway

The toll plazas at Plaza de Cobro Torreón, Plaza de Cobro Ojo Caliente 1, and Plaza de Cobro Periférico, which encompass the Saltillo Northwest Bypass and the Saltillo-Monterrey Highway, have increased their toll rates for the second time this year.

According to the official website of the Monterrey-Saltillo Highway Concessionaire (CAMS), the new rates, authorized by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, and Transportation, went into effect on April 13th of this year. The report indicates that the new rates on the Ojo Caliente 2-Morones Prieto section, which connects Saltillo and Monterrey, increased from 137 pesos to 150 pesos for cars and pickup trucks.

On the same section, the toll is 75 pesos for motorcycles; 282 pesos for buses; and 309 pesos for trucks with 2 to 4 axles. The toll for trucks with 5 to 6 axles is 559 pesos, and for trucks with 7 to 9 axles, it’s 583 pesos. The additional axle for cars costs 75 pesos, and for trucks, it’s 154 pesos.

Another toll that saw a significant increase was at the Ojo Caliente 1 toll plaza (Monclova – Ojo Caliente 2), where the cost for motorcycles is 31 pesos; and for cars and pickups, 62 pesos. The toll for buses is 112 pesos, and for trucks (with axles between 2 and 9) it ranges from 124 to 242 pesos.

The Torreón toll plaza, on the Zacatecas-Monclova section, has the most significant tolls on this stretch. The cost for motorcycles is 40 pesos, 80 pesos for cars, 146 pesos for buses, and for trucks (axles from 2 to 9) it ranges from 156 to 288 pesos.

Other toll plazas on the bypass operated by CAMS also saw increases on the Zacatecas-Torreón section. The toll for motorcycles is currently 27 pesos, for cars and pickups 54 pesos, and for buses 100 pesos. At the Torreón-Monclova toll plaza, the cost is 13 pesos for motorcycles, 26 pesos for cars and pickups, and 46 pesos for buses.
