Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum explained that if the deportation of Fernando Farías, accused of tax evasion, is not achieved, the extradition process will begin.

Mexico requested the deportation of Fernando Farías, a former high-ranking officer in the Mexican Navy linked to a tax evasion network, after his arrest in Argentina yesterday afternoon.

She added that if this process does not proceed, an extradition request will be initiated.

“He is currently in Argentina, and all necessary steps are being taken with the Argentine government, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to determine if deportation is possible.”

“” “Because he entered Argentina with a false passport, his deportation is being requested, and if that doesn’t happen, the extradition process will be established, but we are waiting for deportation,” she mentioned.

Claudia Sheinbaum highlights progress against tax evasion.

This is part of the measures that have been undertaken as a result of the investigation into the fuel trafficking case detected at the Tampico, Tamaulipas customs office.

The first measure is that the temporary entry of fuel into Mexico has been prohibited, because there were temporary permits, so it can no longer enter with a temporary permit.

“If the fuel arrives in the country, it’s because it will be consumed in the country; second, increased surveillance; third, work that the Ministry of Energy was doing on the traceability of fuel entering through customs,” she added.

He said in this regard that the Attorney General’s Office added to the investigation investigations of previous complaints reported at the National Palace by former Attorney General Alejandro Gertz Manero.
