We’ll tell you so you don’t miss the Mexican National Team’s matches for free, and we’ll also tell you about the surprise concert.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, the most important football tournament in the world, kicks off on June 11th, and Mexico will host some matches, including the opening game. Many fans tried to get tickets to attend, but not many were successful. So, if you were one of those who missed out on being at Estadio Banorte in Mexico City, don’t worry! There will be a Fan Fest where you can feel like you’re in the stadium.
Several states have announced Fan Fests to treat fans, especially in host cities like Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey, where matches of this World Cup will be played. Querétaro will also have these spaces for soccer lovers, and a large turnout is expected to enjoy the experience and participate in the contests and activities being organized to create special moments.
These Fan Fests will take place in our city for a total of 14 days. While authorities haven’t officially announced the locations, it’s expected they will be held in iconic city locations, such as the Historic Center, and possibly even at the Corregidora Stadium. During the last World Cup, Qatar 2022, a screen was set up there to watch the national team’s matches, which fans enjoyed free of charge in a fantastic atmosphere.
Among the 14 days on which these Fan Fests will be held, it was revealed that they will correspond to Group A matches, especially June 11, when Mexico will inaugurate the tournament against South Africa at Banorte Stadium. A large turnout is expected that day at the various locations where the screen will be set up, along with all the other surprises planned. Other dates include June 18, when Mexico faces South Korea in Guadalajara at Akron Stadium, and June 24, when Mexico takes on the Czech Republic at Banorte Stadium. These are all group stage matches.

Four weekends will also be filled with World Cup festivities, featuring exciting matches that people will be eager to enjoy. Our state currently has residents of other nationalities who will be following their national teams, while others will want to see the big names in soccer who will be present at this global event. The final is also scheduled, so that the people of Querétaro can watch and meet the champion of this soccer tournament.
The good news doesn’t stop there. As part of this World Cup atmosphere, a rock concert has been confirmed. What better band than the iconic rock and roll group in our country? Yes, we’re talking about El Tri. Alex Lora’s band will perform on June 18th in our city, the same day Mexico faces South Korea at 7:00 PM. Therefore, the concert will most likely take place after the match to continue the party and celebrate a victory for the team led by Javier Aguirre.
The Tri’s performance in our city is more than confirmed; however, details of the venue have not yet been released, so you’ll need to stay tuned to find out the time and location where you can see this rock band from our country, which has influenced many generations throughout its 55-year history and continues to be popular with many new generations.
