More than 350 cases of fraud reported in Durango in the first quarter of 2026

During the first quarter of the year, fraud in Durango was concentrated in urban areas, while in most municipalities the incidence remained low or nonexistent.

According to the municipal crime statistics for common jurisdiction from the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, a total of 352 fraud complaints were filed statewide between January and March 2026, with a slightly downward trend month by month. January saw 127 cases, February 120, and March 105.

Geographically, the municipality of Durango led the way with 182 cases during the period, representing more than half of the state total. Gómez Palacio ranked second with 88 cases; While Lerdo was among the municipalities with the highest incidence, totaling 14 cases.

Other municipalities with significant, though considerably lower, numbers were Santiago Papasquiaro, with 12 cases; Guadalupe Victoria, with nine; and Poanas, with six.

In contrast, much of the state reported minimal or no cases, confirming a high concentration of crime in specific areas.

Also noteworthy are isolated cases in municipalities such as Cuencamé, Nombre de Dios, Pánuco de Coronado, San Juan del Río, and Vicente Guerrero, all with fewer than five reported cases during the quarter.
