An 8-year-old boy died in Oaxaca as a result of an armed attack stemming from a debt collection dispute.
The incident occurred on the night of May 3rd in the Lorenza Santiago neighborhood of Juchitán de Zaragoza.
A man fired shots at a house to intimidate a man who owed him money.
An 8-year-old boy and a woman were wounded. The boy’s death was later reported.
The Oaxaca State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) identified the perpetrator as “Gallo Huiini,” who has already been arrested.
He is a high-priority target in the state, as he is one of the main instigators of violence in Juchitán through extortion, protection rackets, and contract killings.
The Oaxaca Attorney General’s Office described the man’s arrest as “a crucial step in dismantling the criminal cells operating in the Isthmus region.”
