US ARRESTS MORENA’S FIRST LEADER.

Gerardo Mérida Sánchez, former Secretary of Public Security of Sinaloa during the administration of Rubén Rocha Moya, was arrested in Arizona, United States.

The retired general will be transferred to New York, where he will face his initial court appearance. He is accused of allegedly receiving up to $100,000 a month from organized crime.

Mérida Sánchez was among the ten officials linked to the MORENA party for whom the U.S. government had reportedly requested extradition.
