63

The State Civil Protection Unit (UEPC) reports in a press release that the Volcano of Fire maintained stable conditions and low activity during the period spanning from Friday, May 15, to Thursday, May 21, thereby maintaining a low risk level for the population.

The report issued by the University Center for Volcanological Studies (CUEV) at the University of Colima states that monitoring equipment recorded five high-frequency seismic events and five landslides, with no volcanic explosions detected. Emissions of steam and gases originating from the northeastern sector of the crater remain stable and exhibit low activity.

The UEPC reiterates that the activity of the “Colossus of Fire” remains under constant surveillance by specialized personnel and urges the public to stay informed exclusively through official sources and channels.
