People with a valid driver’s license in Michoacán can now install their digital version for free through the App Michoacán application.
In a radio interview, the head of the Finance and Administration Secretariat, Luis Navarro, announced that the digital license does not replace the physical plastic license, but rather serves as an additional document that can be carried on a cell phone and is officially valid with traffic authorities throughout the country.
What information does it contain?
The digital license was validated by the corresponding federal authorities, and Michoacán became the ninth state in the country to implement this format.
The information it contains includes: full name, CURP (Unique Population Registry Code), photograph, place and date of birth, license number, validity period, issuance and expiration dates, license type, blood type, emergency contact, reference phone number, driver’s address, authorized vehicle type, and a QR code to verify its authenticity.
How to obtain it?
To obtain it, you must have a valid driver’s license. Those with an expired document must first complete the standard renewal process in person at the office, where biometric data such as a photograph, signature, and fingerprint will be collected. Afterward, they will be able to download the digital version.
The download can be done starting this Monday through the Michoacán App (available for installation from the App Store and Play Store) or via the digital services of the Ministry of Finance and Administration.
In addition, the same platform allows users to verify the authenticity of a driver’s license and confirm that it is not a counterfeit document.
With this tool, drivers can safeguard their physical license and carry a fully valid digital version on their phone.
